In October 2011, Ardbeg Distillery, on Islay, sent a vial to the International
Space Station onboard space cargo. While the vial was making it’s way to space,
another vial was kept at the Ardbeg Distillery for comparison. After, the
experiment that distillery had noticed that the space samples were noticeably
different in terms of aroma and taste.
